Author Interview- Saahil S Sharma

1. Can you tell us a little about your book?

What if Ashwatthama is not wandering in the forests but has been working with the Indian Government to create military weapons all this while? What if Genghis Khan’s unmarked grave is unearthed and Ravana’s immortal soul is unchained? Professor Ashwatthama's comic book series is inspired by Indian Mythology and Historical events that will keep you hooked.

2. Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out-of-the-blue idea?

I have been researching Ashwatthama since 2016 and gradually came up with an idea based on the blueprints of his character. Moreover, I’m a fan of Valmiki’s Ramayana, a poem that talks about cosmic weapons and flying saucers. So yeah, it’s a mix-and-match of facts and my fantasies.

3. Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?

The introduction and back story of Ashwatthama and how he came to be known as Professor Ashwatthama. On the last page is where we introduce another Immortal character.

4. Who’s your all-time favorite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?

George Prosper Remi, better known as Herge, was a Belgian cartoonist. His best creation is TINTIN, the series that made me fall in love with him.

5. What is your evergreen tip to the writers out there?

First Write, Edit later.

6. What was your hardest scene to write?

The hardest was the REAL SHLOKAS from RAMAYANA, not that I had to create them but I had to be responsible when I quoted and translated them in this comic series.

7. Do you have another plot brewing?

Yes, the script of Professor Ashwatthama- Edition 02 and Edition 03 is complete and illustrations have started.
