Author Interview- Sunita Mukherjee

1. Can you tell us a little about your book?
Some half-broken relationships, some connecting feelings, some pain, some glee and intimacy associated with them, I have tried to express the inner feelings and feelings of the mind through my
book 'Teri Kahani Meri Zubani'.
2. Is there a specific event that inspired this story or was this an out of the blue idea?
I have been writing since childhood. I write on random thoughts. Love, pain, joy, life keeps inspiring me to write more.
3. What got you writing in the first place?
I don't remember, I started writing in school. God knows better.
4. What was your impression of your first draft when you read it?
Every time I read my poetry, I find something new in it. I may not be
the best but I create an influence on readers and that's a reward in
itself.
5. Which part of your story connects the most with you? Why?
voh kahate hain kaise likh letee ho

bakhoobhee daastaan-i-dard kah lete ho

hamane kaha ham shaayar do pal ke nahin

yah zakhm toh sadiyon se bhare hain

6. What makes your book the one to read?
I think every reader can relate to my poetry as I write on random feelings and emotions that every person experience in their life.
7. What was the best advice you got while writing?
That my writing should not be too explicit, it should hide me as a person and should not reflect me as a character in the poetry and I don't write on myself ever. Each poetry is inspired by some person or instance.
8. Who’s your all-time favourite author? Which book of his/hers made you fall in love with them?
Amrita Pritam, with no second thought and Gulzaar too. Pinjar by Amrita Pinjar made me fall in love with her. One of my poems in this book is written on my favourite author as well.
9. What is your evergreen tip to the writers out there?
Just write whatever you feel and whenever you feel no matter where you are. Like if I have a thought the I write in my bathroom too, so that I don't forget it later.
10. Do you have another plot brewing?
I am planning to write a novel and a few stories (in Hindi and English both).
